Day 01 – Airport / Negombo
On arrival, we will be met and
welcome by our guide and we proceed to Negombo. Negombo is a town approximately
30 km north of Colombo in Sri Lanka. It is located at the mouth of the Negombo
Lagoon, about 10 km from the Bandaranaike International Airport. Negombo has a
small port and its economy is based on tourism and fishing, though it also
produces ceramics and brass ware. Evening, we visit the Negombo
city including fishing village, Dutch canals boat ride and the fort. Also we
can enjoy fine sandy beaches, water sports such as diving; wind surfing at
Negombo.

Day 02 –Negombo/ Aukana/ Anuradhapura
This morning we proceed to Ancient
city of Anuradhapura via Kurunagala en route visit Aukana which Buddha's
mystical essence makes for an inspiring presence. Its image magnificently
carved of granite. "This 40-feet image of Buddha in the ashiva mudra pose
signifies blessings, while the burst of fire above his head represents the
power of total enlightenment.
Polonnaruwa is the island’s medieval
capital (from 11th to 13th Centuries AD). A unique Irrigation complex (the sea
of Parakrama ) watered the city as well as the surrounding plains. At
Polonnaruwa we visit huge Parakrama Samudra, the Gal Vihara where colossal
Buddha images are carved on the face of a granite boulder and the Polonnaruwa
Museum. After visiting Polonnaruwa we head to
dambulla. Overnight at Dambulla
Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is located close to the city of Kandy. It is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 300 varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall. It is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture. Overnight at kandy

Day 02 –Negombo/ Aukana/ Anuradhapura

Upon arrive to Anudrhapura we visit the city.
Anuradhapura is Sri Lanka’s first capital, a potent symbol of Sinhalese power,
and the most extensive and important of island's ancient cities. It became a
capital in 380 BC and for over 1000 years Sinhalese kings ruled from this great
city. The Sacred Bo-Tree is the city's holiest site, and was grown from the
tree under which Buddha achieved enlightenment. The Thuparama Dagoba, the
oldest of the many temples in Anuradhapura , is believed to contain the right collar-bone
of Buddha. The greatest treasures are its dagobas constructed of small sun
dried bricks and are hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagobas
are the Ruwanweli Seya which dates back to the 2nd Century BC and is 300ft in
diameter, the Jetavanarama that is 370ft and the Thuparama which enshrines the
collarbone of the Buddha. Overnight at Anuradhapura
After morning meal at hotel, we head
to Polonnaruwa en route visit Ritigala Monastery. Ritigala is a
Buddhist Monastery situated in
Anuradhapura-Habarana road. It was abandoned following invasions in 10th and
11th centuries and was rediscovered by the British in the 19th century.

This morning we climb the Sigiriya
which is meaning lion rock. It was one of the most unique cities in the history
of Sri Lanka. A massive monolith of red stone that rises 600ft, this famous
rock fortress, stark and forbidding, haunted by an epic story of murder and
betrayal, was built in the 5th Century AD by King Kasyapa. The climb to the
summit is
reached between the paws of a lion. A niche in the rock is decorated with frescoes of spellbindingly lovely maidens; it has a moat abutted by a wall and is surrounded by rock and water gardens.

Evening we will experience the jeep
safari at Minneriya National Park Located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa, the
8,890 hectares of Minneriya national park consists of mixed evergreen forest
and scrub areas and is home to favorites such as sambar deer, leopards and
elephants. However the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya.
During the dry season (June to September), this tank is an incredible place to
observe the elephants who come to bathe and graze (Elephant Gathering).Overnight at Dambulla
We proceed to Dambulla and hike to
visit Dambulla Rock Temple this morning. The cave temple was built by King
Walagambahu in the 1st Century BC and it is a world Heritage site. It is the
most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave Temples. The complex of five caves with
over 2000 sq metres of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of
paintings found in the world. It contains over 150 images of the Buddha of
which the largest is the Colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of Rock and
spanning 14 metres.
After we proceed to Kandy hill capital
via Matale. At Matale we will visit a Spice garden to see many
different types
of spices Sri Lanka. The Matale spice gardens are among the best in the island.
We will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices
are grown and processed. Then we continue to Kandy was the last
capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a world heritage site. The name “Kandy”
conjures visions of the splendour and magnificence. Many of the legends,
Traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy
Lake built by the last Sinhala King, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798, Visit the
Kandy town
and Bazzar, the arts and crafts center, a Gem museum and of course the
Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy are things to do in this evening. Overnight at kandy

Today morning we head to Pinnawala
where the Elephant Orphanage is located on. Pinnawala orphanage is
mainly to house young elephants who find themselves displaced and lost from their natural habitats for various reasons environmental changes due to development projects, being abandoned by their parents when they fall into pits and ravines, etc. It is most interesting to visit at feeding or bathing time.

After visiting pinnawala we proceed to
Local village called Padavigampola that is 08 K M away from the orphanage by
Tuk Tuk. At Padavigampola we can see the typical village life of Sri Lanka
villagers. After having local lunch at a village house we return to Kandy and
visit Peradeniya royal botanical garden.

Day 07 – Kandy/
Nuwaraeliya
Nuwareliaya will be our next
destination. We proceed to Nuwaraeliya in this morning and en route visit Tea
factory and Ramboda waterfalls.
Nuwara Eliya nestled in a wooded basin at the foot of Mount
Pidurutalagala Sri Lanka’s highest peak, this region at 6,183ft above sea-level
Has a cool, crisp climate unknown elsewhere in Sri Lanka. A serene retreat from
the hustle and bustle of Colombo, the town seems like a piece of the English
Lake District. Unusual plants
, birds and animals thrive here besides natural feature like waterfalls and caves. Tea, the glistening green leaves of this lovely shrub, along with neat rows of green, cloak ridges and valleys providing a lasting impression of Sri Lanka’s Hill Country. The golf course – one of the most finest and picturesque in Asia – the serene Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity, beautiful parks and well-kept lawns and hedges give the place an air of nostalgia. Day 08 –
Nuwaraeliya / Ella/Bandarawela/ Yala
This morning we proceed to Yala down
south part of the country via Bandarawela and Ella. En route we will view
Famous Rawana waterfalls and vegetable plantation. The Ravana Falls is a
popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. It currently ranks as one of the
widest falls in the country. This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft)
in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. Evening we will arrive to Yala and do the Jeep safari at Yala national
park which is one of the largest national parks in the Country with 103,882.9
hectares. It is situated 300 K.m. south of Colombo on the southeast shore of
Sri Lanka. This National Park has several habitat types such as forests, scrub
lands, grass lands,
lagoons, beaches and other wetlands. This is the most visited national park of the country and its main attractions are Elephants, Leopards, Sloth Bears, and Crocodiles, migratory and resident birds. Most appealing is the overall 'feel' of undisturbed jungle. Big rock formations, Tanks, Beaches and the Lagoons amplify the scenic beauty. A safari jeep ride will take you to close encounters with the wild beasts and to the beauty of the park and make it an unforgettable experience to you.Overnight at Yala

Day 09 – Yala/Galle
After breakfast we proceed to Galle
via Matara. En route visit Temple at Matara . Matara is a major city in Sri
Lanka, 160 km from Colombo. Matara historically belongs to the area called
Ruhuna, one of the three kingdoms in Sri Lanka (Thun Sinhalaya as
Ruhunu,Pihiti,Maya). The temple in the middle of the town is also built by
ancient kings and now it is a very popular sacred place among the Buddhists in
the area. In 16th and 18th centuries Matara was ruled by Portuguese and Dutch
respectively. The culture and architecture of Portuguese and Dutch can be still
seen in the area. In the evening we will visit the Galle

Day 10 –
Galle/ Colombo
Today, proceed to Colombo via
Balapitiya and Bentota. En route we experience Maadu river boat ride and
Kosgoda turtle conservation project. Maadu River is a complex coastal ecosystem of mangroves and islands. It is one of the last remaining tracts of pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka. There are around 64 islands in the river and lagoon and visiting Cinnamon Island where we can view the cinnamon production process and visit hundreds of species of plants and animal are the great attraction of the boat ride.

There are around 64 islands in the river and lagoon and visiting Cinnamon Island where we can view the cinnamon production process and visit hundreds of species of plants and animal are the great attraction of the boat ride.
After joyful boat ride we will
continue to Colombo, en route visit Kosgoda turtle conservation project and
Kalutara temple. Kosgoda sea turtle conservation project was established in
1988 to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction, operated by the Wild Life
Protection Society of Sri Lanka. The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that they
collect at night along the long sandy beach. The hatchery buries the eggs in
sand, and when they hatch around 50 days later the baby turtles are released
into the sea at night. Only about one in 1,000 turtles survive to maturity.
Since 1988, it has released about 3.5 million baby turtles into the sea.
Upon arrival to Colombo , Colombo city
tour including visiting the most fashionable residential district, Cinnamon
Gardens, with its wide, tree-lined, avenues; the Pettah, Colombo’s busiest and
most traditional bazaar area; Hindhu
temples (Kovils) with their elaborate stone carvings; the Dutch Church at
Wolfendhal, dating back to 1749 and the historic Devatatagaha Mosque. At the
end of city tour we can do shopping at barefoot, Unity plaza, Odel and Crescat
Boulevard.

Day 11 –
Colombo /Airport
Today we will leave to airport for the departure.
